🇱🇰  3 Days – Knuckles Range Trek

About This Experience

The Knuckles Range gets its name from the row of peaks that look like a clenched fist from a distance — and it’s one of the few places left in Sri Lanka where you can trek for hours without seeing a road. This trip is built for travelers who want real hiking, not a scenic drive with a short walk at the end.

The trek begins near Kandy and heads into Meemure, a remote village that’s kept much of its traditional way of life simply because the roads in are so difficult. From there, trails climb through cloud forest and grassland patana into the heart of the Knuckles massif, with views that shift from dry lowland to misty highland cloud forest within a single day’s walk — a transition found almost nowhere else on the island.

Corbett’s Gap is a highlight along the route — a natural pass that frames some of the best panoramic views in the range. Nights are spent in basic trekker accommodation or camping, depending on the route conditions and season.

This isn’t a stroll — expect steep sections, changeable mountain weather, and genuine trail conditions. It’s exactly what serious hikers come to Sri Lanka looking for.
